QUEST #1 - Basic Teleporting [✦]

In this 3D First Person Quest we finish implementing a half-coded teleport mechanic and a bounce mechanic.

QUEST #2 - Cloning Colors [✦]

In this quest, we'll modify a 2D platformer to interact with different Color properties modifying our sprite renderer.

QUEST #3 - Whack-A-Mole [✦]

Whack everything that pops up! And fix all the features to make a full-fledged game.

QUEST #4 - Double Room [✦]

This quest creates a 3D puzzle game that focuses on basic input movement controls.

QUEST #5 - Trail Blazer [✦✦]

Let's go ghost hunting! It's up to you to hook up the functionality to reveal the ghosts hiding around the haunted mansion.

QUEST #6 - Grapple Gun [✦✦]

A 2D platformer with a grappling hook mechanic using the Line Renderer, Raycasts, and Distance Joint 2D Mechanics.

QUEST #7 - Mining Quest [✦✦]

In this 2D top-down view mining game, we'll create a randomly procedurally generated mine full of enemies randomly moving around the map.

QUEST #8 - Pinball Quest [✦✦]

Let's make 2D pinball! You're given one flipper and a ball and need to hook up the remaining functionality and bring the table to life.

QUEST #9 - Stealth Hide & Seek [✦✦✦]

This quest focuses on using Coroutines in various different ways to improve the AI behaviour of enemies searching for the player in a 3D first person world.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Skill Builder only available for Unity?
Yes, Skill Builder is only available for the Unity game engine at this time.
Do I need lots of Unity experience to join?
The quests are designed for users with a basic understanding of C# and the Unity engine. We recommend that you have taken the first few sections from our Unity 2D or Unity 3D beginner courses (or equivalent learning from elsewhere) before you join Skill Builder.
How long do the challenges usually take to complete?
We find that the challenges take anywhere from an hour to a few days to complete, depending on how far you want to take them. Your Unity skill and C# knowledge will also influence how long it takes on average.
Can I use Skill Builder assets/code in my own games?
Yes! All of our code and assets can be modified and used in any way you see fit for your own personal projects. The only thing we ask is that you don't go and create your own Skill Builder type product with our content (not that you would, of course!).
Will Skill Builder be available for other engines?
We are looking into possibility having other versions for other engines. Don't tell anyone but we're prototyping an Unreal version of Skill Builder! Let us know if you're interested.
